Kajal Aggarwal, the first South Indian actress to be immortalised as wax statue at Madame Tussauds Singapore was born on 19th June 1985, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She is a well-known actress in Indian film industry who worked in numerous hit films like Magadheera, Darling, Brindavanam etc.
Kajal started her career as a model and went on to work in different languages including Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. She debuted with the Hindi film Kyun! Ho Gaya Na. Her Telugu debut was with film Lakshmi Kalyanam in which, she starred opposite N. Kalyan Ram. After that she worked with major stars like Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Chiranjeevi, and Dhanush. She has also won several awards for her films. Kajal studied at St. Anne’s High School and Jai Hind College in Mumbai. The actress went to Kishinchand Chellaram College and graduated in Mass Media with marketing and advertising as her specialisation. Telugu film Lakshmi Kalyanam directed by Teja marked her Telugu debut. Kajal was paired opposite N. Kalyan Ram. In the same year Kajal appeared in Chandamama which was a multi starrer. She was paired opposite Navdeep in film and it marked as her first big success. In 2008, the actress had her first release in Tamil with Perarasu's Pazhani. Bommalattam. In the same year, she also did a guest appearance in the Tamil film Saroja.

In 2008, she acted in Telugu films Pourudu and Aatadista.
Kajal received critical acclaim as well as public recognition with the film Modhi Vilayadu. She was paired opposite Vinay Rai in the film. Kajal appeared in the Rajamoulis Magadheera next. The historical fiction film, which starred Ram Charan in the lead role, became a blockbuster. This film changed the momentum of Kajal Agarwal’s career.The movie is among the highest grossing flicks till date. The film was also released in Tamil in as Maaveeran and became a huge hit.Her next releases included actor Ram’s Ganesh Just Ganesh and Allu Arjun’s Arya 2. Kajal’s performance in both the films was appreciated. Her film Darling, directed by A Karunakaran and had Prabas in the lead role was a blockbuster. Her next was the Tamil film Naan Mahaan Alla, opposite Karthi. The film was a major hit and the chemistry between the lead actors was much loved. The film was released in Telugu as Naa Peru Siva. Her other releases were Brindavanam, Mr Perfect, Veera and Dhada.She also played the lead in Businessman, Maattrran, Thuppakki , Sarocharu starring Ravi Teja and Naayak opposite Ram Charan. She also worked in Hindi film Special 26 opposite Akshay Kumar. Her other films include All in All Azhagu Raja, Jilla , Yevadu and Govindudu Andarivadele. In 2015, she acted in Jr. NTR’s Temper which was a major hit despite her limited role. Kajal was seen in two big budget films one was Sardar Gabbar Singh starring Pawan Kalyan and Brhamotsavam starring Mahesh Babu. She also worked in the Bollywood film Do Lafzon Ki Kahani. Kajal was seen in a special song in Jr. NTR’s Janatha Garage. It was her first item number.

The song “Pakka Local” was a major hit. The year also saw the release of her Tamil film Kavalai Vendam. She was also seen in Nene Raju Nene Mantri and Vivegam in which her performances received critical acclaim. Her next movies were Vivegam, Ranarangam and Paris Paris.Her upcoming projects include Mosagallu and Mumbai Saga. She will also be seen in Kamal Hassan’s Indian 2. In an interview once , Kajal said that she preferred to work in the Telugu film industry over other industries because of the respect , given to actresses in the industry. She has revealed that actress Tamannah Bhatia is her close friend. Kajal has a pet dog named Kaaju.She loves to watch Game Of Thrones. Her favourite Hollywood film is “Before Trilogy”. Her favourite director is Mani Ratnam. Kajal is a good singer and has crooned for the Kannada film Chakkravyuha. She is a morning person and likes to wake up early.She is obsessed with ice creams and chocolates. Kajal is a fitness freak and loves to swim. Kajal got her first Filmfare and SouthScope nominations for Magadheera. Kajal got her first CineMAA award as the best actress for the film Brindavanam. In January 2017, she was recognised as the Most Desirable Women 2016 in a poll conducted by Hyderabad Times. Kajal Agarwal was declared as the Youth Icon of South Indian Cinema in the year 2013. Kajal received Filmfare nominations for Magadheera, Darling, Mr Perfect, Singam and Govindudu Andarivadele. She won SIIMA for best actress for Thuppaki in 2013. She won 4 CineMAA awards for Magadheera, Mr Perfect, Thuppaki and Brindhavanam. She won Vijay award for Thuppaki as Favourite Actress. Kajal Agarwal endorsed several brands like LUX, RS Brothers in Hyderabad, AVR in Salem, and Sri Lakshmi Jewellery in Pudducherry, Dabur Amla Hair Oil, Green Trends, Ponds, Panasonic, Samsung Mobiles, Khazana Jewellery, and Colgate Tooth Paste. She appeared in popular commercials for Bru instant coffee, Samsung Mobiles and The Chennai Shopping Mall.Kajal is associated with a NGO named Giving Back. As an ardent animal lover, Kajal is associated with PETA. Kajal, along with her sister Nisha, started a Jewellery line called Marsala.
